The Falcon & The Branch

Once there was a king who received a gift of two magnificent falcons.  They were the most beautiful birds he had ever seen. He gave the
precious birds to a trainer to train them.

Months passed, and one day the trainer informed the king that one of
the falcons was flying majestically and soaring high in the sky. But the
second bird had not moved from its' branch since the day it had arrived.
The king called all the bird trainers and ordered them to make the
falcon fly. The trainers used all kinds of ways to make the bird fly.
But the bird had still not moved from its branch.
Finally a farmer came to the king and said "Your majesty, I can make
your falcon fly". The king surrendered the bird to him.
The next morning, the king saw the falcon. It was flying in the sky with
its wide wings. It was moving its wings powerfully and flying with rapid
speed above the palace gardens.
The king surprised asked the farmer “How did you make the falcon fly?”
The farmer said to the king, “It was very easy, your highness. I simply
cut the branch where the bird was continuously sitting.”
We are all like that falcon. We have incredible powers. The possibilities
are endless for us. But many times, we sit on our branches and be lazy. Because we are accustomed to the things that are familiar to us. So our powers remain undiscovered. So our lives are normal instead of exciting, thrilling and fulfilling. If we leave our comfortable branch and go outside,
we can discover our true powers and fly high.
