A man who feeds parots

Sekhar is a middle class man from Chennai, India. He is a camera

repairman. On 26th, December, 2004, a big tsunami spoiled many
countries in Asia. That day ten parrots came to Sekhar's house.
Sekhar fed them with rice. The next day those ten parrots brought
fifty other parrots. He fed those parrots too. Gradually the number
of parrots increased. For the last 12 years, sekhar has been feeding
thousands of parrots daily with rice. Today every morning and
evening, 4000 parrots come to his house. He feeds boiled rice to
them happily. He loves those parrots. The parrots love him.
.
His income from repairing cameras is modest, but that does not
stop him from spending nearly half of his income on his beautiful
flying friends. Daily he gets up at 4 o'clock in the morning to cook
giant pots of rice. Then he spreads boiled rice neatly on parallel
wooden planks. That helps birds easier to stand on them and eat.
Per day, he cooks 60 kgs of rice. It costs him 500 rupees a day.
He might have missed a meal. But in the last 12 years, his parrots
have not missed even a single meal. He stopped going to his
relatives, other towns and villages because of his parrots.
.
Even he nurses injured birds. He gives medical treatment, whenever
he sees an injured parrot. Every day people who go in front of his
house, stop for a minute and watch his birds and their eating. That is
really a spectacular scene. You can watch a video about him and his
birds on YouTube.
